Dave Owens, California Law Report Contributor

Dave OwensEd’s Note: We wanted to introduce you to one of our contributors here at California Law Report, Dave Owens. Dave is a great guy and whip-smart, especially about his passion — intellectual property.

If you are interested in contributing a guest blog post to California Law Report, you can read more about our guest post guidelines here.

My name is Dave and I’m excited to have my work featured on California Law Report. My goal is to provide legal information in a practical, down-to-earth manner.

In YouTube, message boards, or blogs.

However, this increased expression also gives rise to a variety of legal issues, including privacy, intellectual property, fair use, free speech, and defamation.

Legal issues are often complex. It is the role of an attorney to wade through the legalese and help the client make sense of it. Hopefully, after reading my articles, you’ll have a better sense of the issues that affect you.

I received my Bachelor of Arts in Telecommunications (with an emphasis on television and film production) from Ball State University and my Juris Doctor from the University of San Francisco School of Law.

As a law student I interned at the Law Offices of George M. Rush, the First Amendment Project, and the Electronic Frontier Foundation.

Currently, I work as a contract attorney in the San Francisco Bay Area. My specialties include intellectual property, Internet law, and entertainment law.
